Turkey Beach

Turkey Beach is a laid back coastal fishing village located approximately 165km north of Bundaberg and 69km south of Gladstone.  It is accessed from the Bruce Highway along the Capricorn Coast.  

Turkey Beach sits in the protected Rodd's Bay, and is geographically closer to the Great Barrier Reef than virtually anywhere else in Queensland. 

Rodds Bay is home to a Dugong Sanctuary and a wide variety of  other marine and bird life.

With large areas of mangrove inlets, creeks and estuaries, Turkey Beach provides some of the best fishing and mud crabbing areas in Queensland, while nearby Pancake Creek provides a popular anchorage for yachts and boats in the lee of 

Bustard Head.

A few kilometres out of town, Eurimbula National Park preserves the peninsular between the bay and the Coral Sea.

4WD enthusiasts can enjoy travelling the Danube Track, which winds its way through the Eurimbula National Park to Agnes Water on the other side.

 

This undeveloped coastal paradise is a great place to relax and unwind, and yet is only a short drive to nearby tourist hubs along the Discovery Coast such as Tannum Sands, Lake Awoonga and Gladstone to the north; and 1770, Agnes Water and Bundaberg to the South.

The general store provides basic groceries and convenience items, ice, bait, unleaded and diesel fuel, swap 'n' go gas, and is licensed for takeaways.
